How I Love Being Alive

Vilma Flood

One morning perspective came home
And the tears fell for I don’t know how long
We're dreaming us away
Watching into the wild
Taking flowers inside
This is how we survive

That’s when I run
With air in my lungs
A mind full of thoughts
To chase the will that for a while has been lost

Dark clouds, some rain
Cold air, some pain
How I love being alive these days

Nothing’s wrong
But how easy things would be
If the rules were forgotten or gone
I’ve climbed as far as I dare
Want to jump back again because I’m scared

That’s when I run
With air in my lungs
A mind full of thoughts
To chase the will that for a while has been lost

Dark clouds, some rain
Cold air, some pain
How I love being alive these days
