Blind the light

Grindstone

As I lay in the morning alone, ask myself again, "Am I changing?"
Same 'ol face I see today, it's so familiar.
Restless eyes blind the light.
Still I think of yesterday, things I can't change; it's said and done.
Slap me in the face again, I want to feel the pain.
Peel the skin back and let it bleed.

Blind the light that leads my way, my eyes burn.
I can see, my eyes burn.
My lungs bleed but I can breathe, my lungs bleed.
Tomorrow's changing yesterday.
Trust; fear the same mistakes I've made.
Feeling numb. Can't feel my face.
I can't breathe the air I need to breathe
so I am left here now to suffocate.
As I lay in the morning alone, ask myself again, "Am I changing?"
Same 'ol face I see today, it's so familiar.
Restless eyes blind the light.

Blind the light that leads my way, my eyes burn.
I can see, my eyes burn.
My lungs bleed but I can breathe, my lungs bleed.
Tomorrow's changing yesterday.
I can see the things I wanna see but I don't wanna see 'em.
I can be the man I wanna be but I don't wanna be him.
